What is the Alcohol Training Awareness Program?

New York State Alcohol Training Awareness Program (ATAP)

ATAP is a training approved by the New York State Liquor Authority that teaches servers and sellers of alcohol their legal responsibilities and practical skills to serve safely. This course helps prevent common violations like serving minors or intoxicated customers, protecting you and your business.

The Authority recommends that all staff who serve or sell alcohol complete this program.

If charged with a violation, proof of training may help reduce penalties.
